Breastfeeding Support
Breastfeeding is like a dance between a mother and her baby and
takes time and practice for both to learn. While most babies
naturally know how to breastfeed and what to do, sometimes
problems occur both in the hospital and at home.
Sound Women’s Care has outpatient
Lactation Consultants, with one-on-one consultation visits to
assist moms during pregnancy and post partum. Consultation
services are offered to every mom to promote successful
breastfeeding practices and for those who need extra assistance
with common problems such as:
- Engorgement
- Sore nipples / breasts
- Positioning and latch-on
difficulty / breast refusal
- Low milk supply
- Slow weight gain
- Premature / special needs infants
- Twins / other multiples
- Moms with a history of breast surgery
- Back-to-work issues
- Pumping questions
